Toshi Nagai
Toshi is a first-year biomedical engineering undergraduate, raised across Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hawaiʻi. He joined the MAD Lab to deepen his experience in medical device (diagnostic, monitoring, etc.) development and biomedical research. He aims to launch a biotech startup focused on designing and manufacturing affordable medical devices to reduce healthcare disparities and improve access to care universally, while pursuing impactful research on neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and designing and fabricating assistive devices for patients. Outside the lab, Toshi enjoys cafe-hopping, working out, cooking, playing volleyball and violin, and making music.
