Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What will I be doing doing?

We’ll provide additional training at onboarding, but it’s quite simple:

  1. Apply the smart lactation pad on one breast

  2. Apply commercial breast pump to the second breast

  3. Collect pumped milk sample and saturated lactation pad

Q: Do I need to provide my own materials?

No! We will provide you everything that you need, including lactation pads and a breast pump.

Q: What kind of data are you keeping on me?

Nothing, seriously!

Your data will never be sold, shared, or otherwise distributed outside of this research study.

The onboarding and follow-up information is safeguarded by a select few individuals, held accountable by the University of Southern California’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) under reference IRB #HS-25-00093.

Q: Wait, will the sensor be in direct skin contact?

No! Our smart lactation pad is fully biocompatible and the sensor is not in contact with the skin.

Q: How will I be compensated?

After completion, you can either choose a $25 gift card and a new breast pump OR provide your own pump and receive a $75 gift card.

Q: Do I have to come in person? Where can I park?

Yes! The study is completed in person. Metered street parking is compensated.
